If you think you might have PID, remember that you’re not the only one. About 1 in 4 women in the U.S. have this illness, so it’s rather common. Don’t overlook the signals because PID can get worse if it isn’t addressed.

Peak and decline
One study done in Israel at Soroka University looked at the quality of semen in normal guys and related the amount and quality of semen to the men’s ages.
The study looked at everything a semen analysis would, such as how often they had intercourse. This is crucial to think about because going without sexual activity can make semen less healthy. Sperm that is made more often is healthier.
Researchers observed that the amount of sperm reached its highest level between the ages of 30 and 35. (Could this be nature’s way of making sure a couple gets pregnant before the age of 35, when a woman’s fertility starts to drop?) On the other hand, the total amount of sperm was shown to be at its lowest after age 55.

Sperm motility and age
This study also discovered that the way sperm moved changed as people got older. How well sperm swim is called their motility. 1 The movement of sperm was better before age 25, while it was worst after age 55.
In fact, the number of “good swimmer” sperm in males between 30 and 35 years old was 54% lower than in those over 55 years old. The study’s focus on sexual abstinence could not explain these big differences.

Scientists said that elderly men are not just at risk for not being able to have children. They are also more likely to have children with genetic issues. When both the woman’s and the man’s ages are taken into account, the chance of birth abnormalities goes up much more. Take the chance of having a child with Down syndrome. As a woman ages, her chance of having a child with Down syndrome goes up.
Researchers looked at slightly over 3,000 children and discovered that a man’s age mattered more when a mother was 35 or older. This was especially true for women older than 40. Half of the children in this group with Down syndrome got that genetic abnormality from their fathers.

- autism

- schizophrenia

Male and Female Age Together
To make a child, it requires two people. We may talk about the man’s and the woman’s ages, but it’s also vital to think about how those two ages work together.
A study of 782 couples looked at how likely it was that they would get pregnant based on their age and whether or not they had intercourse on their most fertile day. (just before ovulation). They found that a woman’s fertility went down as she aged.

Women between the ages of 19 and 26 had a 50 percent probability of getting pregnant on their reproductive day. Only 29% of women aged 35 to 39 had a chance. But what’s most interesting about this is how old the men were. For women ages 35 to 39, their chances of getting pregnant plummeted to 15% if their partner was five or more years older than them. The chances were almost slashed in half.
