What Are Multiple Orgasms?
When a person has more than one climax during sexual behavior, they are having multiple orgasms. Women are more likely to have them, but not all women do. Most women can have more than one orgasm, but a study shows that only about 15% of them actually do.
Multiple orgasms haven’t been studied in depth, so most of what we know about them comes from what patients tell us. Different people also have different ideas about what multiple orgasms are. For example, some experts think that multiple orgasms happen right after each other, with little “down time” in between.

Between each one, women stay excited. Others think that more time can make it possible to have more than one orgasm. With this meaning, a woman could reach her climax once, take a break, and then reach her climax again a few minutes later.
Most of the time, a woman’s second or third orgasm isn’t as powerful as her first one. But that doesn’t make them any less fun to do.
Some women might have more than one orgasm that has nothing to do with sex. Women with persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD) may feel sexually excited even when they haven’t been sexually stimulated in hours or days. They may have several uncontrollable orgasms that come on by themselves in a short time.

Refractory Period
The refractory period is when a person is no longer physically responsive after having an orgasm. Males can’t become physically aroused during the refractory time. But even if a woman loses interest in sexual activity, she is generally still physically able to do it again. People often think that guys can’t have more than one orgasm because they have a refractory period.
Men’s bodies rest for a while after they ejaculate. During this time, they don’t get sexually excited again. Some men have short refractory times—only a few minutes. But for some people, it can take 12 to 24 hours or even longer to feel better.

Summary
Men and women shouldn’t be worried if they only have one orgasm. Even without them, sexual experiences can still be very fulfilling. But if a couple wants to try having more than one orgasm (or make the ones they already have better), they should be honest about their sexual likes and dislikes and think about trying different kinds of sexual activities. They also need to be calm and gentle. It can take practice to have more than one orgasm.
