With age, it is quite natural for us to experience some changes – our energy, desires and musculature. We also get a bit lazier. But with some tips from the health experts, it is possible to maintain energetic, fit and healthy life as we mature.
Some useful tips to follow for men over 50
Weight training: Since we lose muscle tone with age, it is necessary to perform weight training. Those who have never done weight training before are advised to start slowly to develop muscle tone.
Shed weight: Slim down if overweight. But, be careful with your fragile body and frame and allow sufficient space. Eat lean and put less pressure on your heart. Take care of your arteries and veins. Avoid physical stress on any of your organs and weight off your joints and muscles. Improve muscle tone and avoid fat.
Blood pressure: This should be kept under control. With age, there are high chances of heart attacks. Ensure blood pressure to be within healthy range. Avoid drugs, have good nutrition and perform exercise.
Eat healthier and consume less: Once you cross 50, your body systems will not be process food like it did when young. Treat them kindly and have moderate of everything. Cut out sodium and fat.
Take vitamins: Mineral and vitamin tablets will be of good help if you are not healthy. Multivitamin should be taken only after consulting the physician. It should not be artificial vitamins full of sugar and starch.
