PREMATURE
EJACULATION |

Premature ejaculation (PE), also
known as, rapid ejaculation, rapid climax, premature climax or early
ejaculation, is the most common sexual problem in men, affecting 40%-75% of
men. It is characterized by a lack of voluntary control over ejaculation.
It is stated that a man suffers from premature ejaculation if he ejaculates
before his sex partner achieves orgasm in more than fifty percent of their
sexual encounters. According to the health experts one in every three males
is affected by this problem. Some men ejaculate right before penetration
while some others ejaculate soon after penetration or as soon as foreplay
begins. It varies from person to person -- the good news is that the problem
can be treated but many a times, men feel embarrassed to talk to their
health care provider or GP about it or seek treatment including
psychological counseling, medications and learning sexual techniques to
delay ejaculation can improve your sexual life.
Recently a new definition of premature ejaculation was presented by the
International Society for Sexual Medicine panel of experts at the American
Urological Association's annual meeting. The panel said, PE should be
defined as "a male dysfunction characterized by ejaculation which always or
nearly always occurs prior to or within about one minute of vaginal
penetration; and, inability to delay ejaculation on all or nearly all
vaginal penetrations; and, negative personal consequences, such as distress,
bother, frustration and or the avoidance of sexual intimacy." |

Interesting Study |

Current evidence supports an average intravaginal
ejaculation latency time (IELT) of six and a half minutes in 18-30 year
olds.[1][2] If the disorder is defined as an IELT percentile below 2.5, then
premature ejaculation could be suggested by an IELT of less than about one
and a half minutes.[3] Nevertheless, it is well accepted that men with IELTs
below 1.5 minutes could be "happy" with their performance and do not report
a lack of control and therefore do not suffer from PE. On the other hand, a
man with 2 minutes IELT could present with perception of poor control over
his ejaculation, distressed about his condition, has interpersonal
difficulties and therefore be diagnosed with PE.
85% of women NEVER achieve an orgasm during intercourse, and 72% of women
said that they have lied to their lover about having an orgasm, which they
never actually had.

Biological causes |
|
There are various
biological factors which can play a major role in developing premature
ejaculation such as few thyroid problems, infection of the prostrate,
unusual hormone levels, change in the brain chemicals level
(neurotransmitters), abnormal reflex activity of the ejaculatory system and
inherited traits. |
